Bring it back!

I decided to make a short list of items that I think should make a come back.

1. Overalls
They are great for those "fat days".  They are comfortable to play with your kids in or go to the store.

 2. Keds
They are versatile and comfortable.  The main reason I want them to come back though is because we could all sign eachothers' shoes!!  How fun!

 3.  Murder She Wrote
It is the best show ever.  That J.B.Fletcher never misses a thing.  I love the plots and trying to solve the crimes with Jessica.  Plus, besides all the murder, it was family friendly.

4. Scrunchies
I like the scrunchie because it held my hair best.  It also didn't leave lines in my hair.  I don't neccess
arily want to wear it in public but around the house it would be very helpful.

5. Fanny Pack
I know these were never "cool" but I think if Michael Kors made a cute one now it would be awesome from a convenience standpoint.  For reals, hear me out.  How great would it be to have your hands free when you are out with your kids.  Plus, those things hold a lot.  You could put some snacks in there with your phone, wallet, keys, glasses, lipstick, even some wipes and then bam you're ready to go.

I would love to hear what out dated fad you want to bring back.  It can be a grass roots thing.  Yes, we can!

Boys and Girls

"Little Boys"

Little boys come in all shapes and sizes,
Shy and adventurous, full of surprises,
With misshapen halos and mischievous grins,
Small dirty faces, and sweet, sticky chins.

They'll keep you so busy, and yet all the while
Nothing can brighten the world like their smile.
And no greater treasure has brought homes more joy
Than a curious, active, and lovable boy!

My Precious Little Girl

When you came into my world you took my breath away,
I’d watch your little face for hours while beside me you did lay,
Your little hands your little toes, the way you scrunched your eyes,
There’s just not one thing about you that any mother could despise,

You are a little angel that God has sent to me,
You give me cuddles when I’m sad, you ease my agony,
You’ve such a gentle nature, your heart is full of love,
To be blessed with such a daughter is more then I ever dreamed of,

We have our special moments, like mothers and daughters do,
For a while it seems the world has stopped,
And all that’s real is me and you,
It’s oh so deep a mother’s love, for her precious little girl,
I’m the oyster in the ocean, and you’re my shiny pearl,

Everything about you is perfection from above,
Your one of life’s few miracles made entirely of love,
So darling, if you ever see me gazing while you play,
It’s because I love you so very much, in each and every way.

Yee Haw

Last week the kids had Rodeo Day at Sonshine.  I am so glad they love it there.  Yesterday Drew got a haircut and didn't want to wash his hair at night because he wanted his teacher, Mrs. Dixie, to see his hair in the morning.  I am so thankful for our church and the people there.

I am excited because next year I will teach kindergarten at Sonshine on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  I love teaching and I love kindergarteners.  They are hilarious!  I am looking forward to being back in the classroom and I am excited to have some of my friends' kids as students.  Drew is not happy about this new venture.  He told me he just wants me to be home.  I told him that he would be at school those days too and he didn't care.  I pray for his wife.  He will have her home, in the kitchen, all the time.

Enlarged Prostate and Minnie Mouse

I took the kids with me to the doctor's office today to have paperwork filled out for my Dad.  As we were waiting Drew brought me over a board book from the kids' books and asked me to read it to him. I said sure and then read the title and nearly busted out laughing.  The book is called "Enlarged Prostate"!  The kids wanted to know what was funny and so I took their picture with the book because moments like this are too valuable to pass up.  Charis' face cracks me up, too.

I also texted a few friends this morning because Charis HAD TO HAVE this Minnie shirt when we were at the store yesterday.  She loved it so and I couldn't deter her (believe me I tried).  I let her wear it today and was so proud of myself for letting Charis shine her inner Minnie even though I have a dislike for character shirts.  I just feel like it is a slippery slope... one or two are fine but, then before you know it you have the backpack, lunchbox, shoes, shirts, and more.

Donuts make me go nuts! (and burgers)

This morning we met Katie Belle and Dina at Krispy Kreme for donuts.  I haven't had Krispy Kreme in so long and it was delicious!  The kids enjoyed watching the donuts go through the frying and glazing process.  They were WiReD after all the sugar so I sent them on with their Daddy so I could go see my Dad.

For dinner we kept our healthy eating going by going to the Twisted Root.  I love their burgers.  When I saw that they were building a Twisted Root footsteps from my house I thought it was a mirage.  Then I knew it was true and expected with luck like this that this new restaurant may change my life but it really hasn't been that life changing after all, maybe if it was a Chick-fil-a. This was our first time to go to this location and we met the Harvey's there.  It was fun to eat outside and talk.  I asked Stephen to get a picture of the kids playing and this what he did.  I can tell his heart was really in it.  My night was made when I got to hold the Harvey's sweet foster baby.  Then I got to give her back before she cried at me or threw a tantrum.
